We’ve posted a few bits fom Dublin based label Absys in the past, namely Missing Fragments and Mystical Deep, and they always deliver really well thought out releases in a deep, experimental style from artists that are often new to us. It’s nice to see labels representing simply quality music over big names and we do love a good underdog, so it’s even nicer to see the label grow, launching a child label called Absys Limited. And what a fine way to launch it, with a stunning three track Ep from Hatti Vatti out of Gdansk, Poland.

The first track, Simple Words, features the beautiful, ethereal vocals of Lady Katee, who’s powerfully melancholic voice is justifiable accompanied by an effortless 2 step break with sharp hats, echoing drips and rolling bassline for a tune that’s full of layers and surprises. An ear pricker of an opening track that’s accompanied by a fittingly surreal video which you can check out above. Palms instantly ups the ante slightly with hard kick drums dropping into a rising melody and delightfully rolling clicks before ASC finishes off the release in style, reworking it into a stripped back stepper underneath starry atmospherics for a lovely balance of the head nod and the sofa sink.

A top notch release, from a label I’m really excited to see grow and an artist I’m infinitely grateful they introduced me to. Once again, nice art work as well! Pick it up either as vinyl or mp3 from the Absys store or your wax dealer of choice.
