Soundcrash- DJ Kentaro & Anchorsong

To put it bluntly, Tokyo’s DJ Kentaro is an absolute beast on the turntables. You’ve only got to check the video embed below to hear how other-wordly his skills are, unbelievable in fact. But as they say, seeing is believing. That’s why we’re heading down to XOYO this saturday to see him chop, dissect and reconstruct every possible permutation of hip-hop, drum and bass and electronic beat into eminently dance-worthy compositions. There’s rumours that these DMC heads are all fancy tricks with no dance floor swagger, but having heard audio of some of his sets in the past, I don’t believe them. Seeing is disbelieving in that case.

Next to him on the bill is is Tru Thoughts ‘s Anchorsong, playing a live set combined with a string quartet for his twisted soulful take on electronic music that we’re really excited to check out. Another of the DMC magicians, DJ Woody is also in attendance alongside Bristol’s DJ Cheeba with an audio visuals show and Reso with his strange hi tech dubstep hybrids. That, is what they call a lineup.
