Dephect’s blog is always dope for free music and generally good content. They’re not one of those brands just out to make a few pounds off garms, but actively support all elements of Hip Hop and the surrounding culture, from hooking up mcs, djs, writers, skaters, bmxers and break dances through sponsoring events. So it doesn’t come as a massive suprise that they’ve teamed up with High Focus’s MPC damager Leaf Dog to release a free album full of remixes of all your favourite recent UKHH tracks.

From High Focus camp classics such as Fliptrix’s My Soul and Dirty Dike’s Never Seen a Reason to more recent bangers such as LDZ’s Beat Don’t Bang, Leafy chops up a dream team of UK Mcs with rugged beats and soulful samples. It’s fifteen tracks of straight up good hip hop and although the beats may not be Leaf Dog’s most crispy offerings, they’ve got that straight up, snap your kneck, homegrown sound to them and his sample selections are on point, allowing him to completely switch up the vibes of tracks the heads will know and love. I’m particularly feeling his switch up on LDZ’s Time.
